August Long Weekend...
4Gotta love the Civic Holiday in August (that is, if you're not working or remodeling. :) Woo hoo, three-day weekend! On Friday Brent's better half Nerissa dropped into The Business Inn from Kingston for a visit.
The three of us wandered through some bars on Elgin Street on Friday night, then paid a visit to the Dow's Lake Marina on Saturday afternoon. 6

And hey, what can I say? Everywhere I go... :)
Bud and Laurie dropped by the hotel on Saturday evening...
...and later we crossed the street to The Fox & Feather and hung out on Swagman Jack's patio overlooking Elgin.

Recovery-time after this bit of craziness was a little ragged, with these guys re-doing the walls of the hotel through the whole long weekend. 6
Friendly bunch of fellas, but they sure did a lot of drillin.' (Home renovation seems to have been the theme of the weekend for a lot of folks, eh Matt & Melissa? :)
Anyway, earlier today we dropped into the St. Louis Bar & Grill for a taste...

Cold draft, super-hot wings & ribs (and waitresses). How can you go wrong? All told, a fun long weekend downtown.
All for now / more soon...

Brian

Looks like a fun weekend! What's that orange thing? And just a note, I still had fun even though I spent my long weekend renovating!
Hey Brian,
Looks like a good time. If I wasn't indoors painting all weekend I would have joined you guys. I SO want to try out that St. Louis place, looks wicked.
Liss, that orange thing is a large Wendy's cup... I think.
The orange thing is either the hotel chameleon or the Wendy's rooftop milkshake that looks like a huge nipple. :)

The hotel chameleon! LOL
Holy crap, banana popsicles rock! In the middle of it and enjoying it immensely. Thanks for the recipe. Wish you were here for the deck christening.

Who owns Jim? Or is that just a name you guys came up with? He's very cute!
Jim belonged to an old hippie guy who was at Dow's Lake that day. He was a funny dog.
Popsicles! Yeah, baby! Sorry I missed "the maiden deck voyage." Maybe we can all get together and sit on it the next time I'm in town. :)
