Another Oxford Station Pig Roast!

Greetings folks!

So, only once in a while do most of us get the chance to attend a big backyard party that features a slow-roasted hog (see "El Grande Fiesta" entry below. :) However, this past weekend, Bud & Laurie's friends Gary & Karine (who live just down the road from Bud's out in Oxford Station) held their Annual Pig Roast with a live band and a big ol' bonfire. It was a major hoot! Their backyard is a long slope down to the treeline; the stage set-up in one corner of the lot creates a kind of natural mini-ampitheatre. Everybody was sitting on blankets, dancing on the grass, enjoying the music and the warm evening air. Great stuff.

Unfortunately, I forgot to bring extra batteries for my camera, and the ones that were in it went dead right away. D'oh! The only photo I managed to get was this crappy blurred-out shot of the band on stage:

But trust me -- it was an awesome party! The band rocked and after a while the fire got huge. Thanks to Gary & Karine for putting on a hell of a blast.

Cheers!
Brian

hey Brian,

I'm noticing something a little different with the comment section, must be that beta version you installed. Cool party, too bad the cam died.

You guys sure like pig roasts! Sounds like a fun party, next time you gotta have some extra batteries though!

Pig roasts rule! Not having fresh batteries, umm...doesn't.

Thanks for the comments Brian. I may just update mine to beta, cause I do have a google account. Problem is, I get these annoying alerts from yours everytime I open a window asking if I approve of viewing it. Must be something to do with the beta version.

Did you end up having to convert your blog, or does it do it for you?

Everything upgrades automatically when you switch over to Beta. There's new features, too - republishing is instantaneous (no more waiting with the little 'spinner' thing); new templates; the 'edit posts' page has a better design.

And wouldn't the 'annoying alerts' be a small price to pay if you're able to post pictures again?

Go for it, man! :)

I noticed something wierd too..when I'm at home I can't read your comments at all..it gives me an error message. When I'm at work, I can read them, but the security thing pops up. Why wouldn't my home computer let me read it? Do you suppose it's because my security is set to high?
